Battle For The Beacon Review

Hey Jammers! There's a new adventure out, called Battle For The Beacon, so I decided to check it out for myself. I won't be showing everything, so be sure to check it out for yourselves when you have the time.

This adventure is like Graham's Workshop, in that multiple people are playing in once map.

First off, you're spawned in a little village area, and I love the aesthetics of the place. So cozy! Feels like a comfortable community... if there weren't all those phantoms around lol.

In the village there is a new shop! It sells adventure exclusive items. How do you buy these items? with the new currency of course!

They're called Earth Crystals, and you get them from destroying Phantom pipes!

Once a set of pipes is destroyed, a cork will pop up. Put it in the pipe by the river to plus it and move on to the next patch of land.

You can either use bombs to get rid of phantoms, or trap them in a fly trap. You must water both the bomb plants and the fly traps to re use them.

And the cycle repeats, with both east and west sides.

Also, take a look at the beautiful imagery:

I absolutely love the greenery and flowers in this adventure.

All in all, it's not the best adventure. I'm not gonna lie to you, it's extremely repetitive, and you need lots of people to be doing it at once for it to be effective. You have to play a lot of rounds to collect enough Earth Crystals to afford the lowest priced item. I got bored really fast, but I mean if more people are playing the quicker it goes, so you may end up enjoying it.

Outrage Over Spikes? Trading BETAS for New Spikes?

Hey Jammers, this past day Spikes have taken Jamaa by storm.  I have heard a lot of different opinions of the spiked collar sale. Some people love the idea, and some hate it.

Case One: Why it's GOOD

First of all, non members can finally wear a spike collar and necklace. That caters to a huge group of people. It's awesome non-members can enjoy a favored AJ item! Some would argue this will put down the value of it, because anyone can get it. But I don't know about that. Members have better chances of getting diamonds (you get at least one every day), while non-members rarely get diamonds.

There are new color combinations for new spikes! This adds a lot of variety, and can fit any Jammer's lifestyle.

Case Two: Why it's BAD

I've heard a lot of people complain about the spikes. They say it will flood the "rare" spike market, and the whole trading market for that matter. They complain spikes are no longer rare or desirable, or at least will become so, because it's so accessible. That's fair, I could see how you would be disappointed to see spikes are no longer few and far between.

The new spikes, both member and non member, will completely turn the trading system upside down. At least for a week or so. I've witnessed this first hand. I've seen people who don't have enough diamonds put up BETAS and massive amounts of rares for a single spike. That's insane! I haven't seen an item be CURRENTLY for sale with people lining up, ready to trade betas for it.

Overall, what's your take? Do you think this is a good idea, or will it do more harm than good? Do you think the trading market will flop because of this? Do you think they'll be considered even more rare after the sale is over? Let me know! Honestly, I'm happy non-members get spikes, and I'm amazed at the turn of events with trading!

Call Of The Alphas Jorney Book Guide

Here's a guide on where to find ALL the Alpha Items in the Call of the Alphas Party.

You get spawned in front of a field of flowers

To the right of the span, there is a path down to a bridge. Follow that path to the other bridge that has a patch of dandylions. In the dandylions is Lisa's Camera!

Just past the first bridge is a little bunny town (which btw is adorable). Go next to the carrot patch and wait for the carrots to pop out. One of them will pop out with Peck's Earring.

North of the spawn point is Cosmo's Hat, which falls from a tree.

South East of the Spawn point, there is a foggy town, and at the end of it is a little gear house with a makeshift clothing line. On the line are Graham's Goggles

Going upwards of the foggy village, there are three tents set up in a grassy area. Wait for the blue tent on the left to open up and reveal Sir Gilbert's Armor.

North East of the spawn point is a winding path. Eventually you will find phantom gunk, and if you follow that, Greely's Cape will blow in the wind and get caught in the tree.

Following that path, you will come to the canyon area. Go down until you stumble upon a tent set up. There on the barrel is Sir Gilbert's Map.

Upwards the canyon biome, some dust will blow and reveal Liza's Compass.

Going East of the spawn point, you will see crumbled ruins. Follow that path to a rocky terrian. Go to the left, and there will be a grassy patch with Cosmo's Seed Bag.

Climbing up the rocks, there will be lava. Wait by the lava patch for Graham's wrench to pop up from a bubble of lava.

Climbing up further, there will be an art area with paint splattered around. Peck's Paintbrush will fall, clinging on a cobweb.

Finally, as you near the top, there will be a cave where Greely's Journal pops up.

Once you've collected them all, you will receive an Alpha Archway!

TIPS
  • If it's laggy, spam each object with clicks. Some objects move, so you might miss getting it
  • Use a flying animal to search for the items, it speeds things up
  • If you're doing this in one go, make sure you don't have plans. This might take a while.

Have fun! I hoped this helped you :o)
