Animal Jam Changing Shamans to Alphas?

In this little article, Animal Jam used the word "Alphas" instead of "Shamans".

So has Animal Jam changed Shamans to Alphas? 

It might have something to do with the term "Shamans" being offensive to people, but ya know.

    "Alphas" are shamans. Shamans are the original animals of Animal Jam such as Sir Gilbert the tiger, Greely the wolf, Graham the monkey, Cosmo the koala and Peck the rabbit. Those are the six original shamans. Shamans are so respected that they have received the title "Alpha", they are the Alpha animals. :3 the more you know.
